Vinous Stephen Tanzer - 01 Nov 02
(aged entirely in barriques, 50% of which were new) Bright medium red. Aromatic nose combines plum, chocolate, tobacco, mocha and spicy oak. Sweet, supple and smooth, with the wine's pronounced chocolatey oakiness obscuring its Barolo character. Rich finishing flavors of cherry and tobacco.

Barolo Vineyard Fine Wine

Barolo

Barolo, the "King of Wines," is a prestigious red from Piedmont, Italy, made exclusively from Nebbiolo grapes. Known for deep complexity, Barolo offers rich flavours of dark cherries, roses, truffles, and spices, with high acidity and firm tannins. It ages exceptionally well, evolving in depth and nuance. Barolo's diverse terroirs create a range of styles, from powerful to delicate. Top producers include Gaja, Bruno Giacosa, Giuseppe Rinaldi, and Marchesi di Barolo, all of whom exemplify Barolo's tradition and quality.
